I have the Same problem.
On Sametime Community Server, the St Presence Subscription service is not running.
I added the variable VP_TRACE_ALL=1 in sametime.ini, i have some log but none of this service.

I can load a meeting but i can't tchat with Sametime connect.
No error message but the status remains to being connection.
